Join
us for “The Magic of Pixar” and enjoy a meaningful night out in Novato! On October 29th,
6-8:30pm the Novato
Youth Center is holding its annual “Scary Tuesday” event at Muscio’s Italian
Restaurant. 100% of the proceeds will benefit youth programs.
This
ghoulishly fun evening will feature guest speaker David Suther, Film Editor at
Pixar Animation Studios, who will talk about the importance of connecting youth
to creativity through film making.
Recently
Suther took home a 2013 Annie Award in Outstanding Achievement for Editorial in an Animated
Feature for his work on Disney·Pixar’s 2012
Golden Globe® and Academy Award® -winning feature film,
“Brave.” He worked on “Monsters, Inc.”, “Finding Nemo,” “Ratatouille,”
and “Up,” and Golden
Globe®-winner
“Cars.” Suther has said of working at Pixar,
“My favorite moments are when I finally work a scene until I feel like I've
made it as funny, exciting, or heartfelt as I can and my editing becomes
invisible. I love sitting in the back of a theater and watching other people
enjoy our movies.” A Novato resident and parent
of two, Suther’s children have been involved with the Novato Youth
Center programs.
