Pioneer Park
1077 Simmons Ln, Novato, CA 94945
Pioneer Park is among the most popular parks in Novato because of its large updated play structure, its four tennis…More courts and its vast area of lush grass. The nine-acre park about a mile west of the downtown area borders a creek to the north and residential areas on the other three sides. The tennis courts are lighted and in good shape, resulting in heavy usage on the weekends. A paved walkway meanders through the grounds up to the old cemetery on the top of a knoll where many of Novato's famous settlers are buried. The play structure was updated after a large tree crashed down during a 2002 storm and destroyed most of the old wooden play structure. The park is available for rental and is sometimes used for film nights and festivals.
