The views around Novato from the 1,558-foot-high Mount Burdell are outstanding, making it a favorite with Marin CountyMore hikers. The Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve is just less than 1,600 acres and managed by the Marin County Open Space District. Hikers will pass through wide-open grasslands and dense forests of oak and bay trees on their way to the summit. Hidden Lake is a small, seasonal pond about halfway to the top and slightly to the west summit. Hikers will see rare plants, frogs, salamanders, songbirds, hawks, deer, bobcats, coyotes and occasionally a mountain lion. For more information, check out the county's website about Mount Burdell.

This Chevron location is conveniently near the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center.  It is across the street from Moylan'sMore Brewery and the Century Rowland Plaza theaters. The space features a drive-through car wash that is open 24 hours a day.
Wild Horse Valley Association

The Wild Horse Valley Association is a common interest development that owns some of the most beautiful land in MarinMore County. It has 97 residential lots, along with several common areas and widespread bridal and hiking paths. It also has 138 acres of open space that have not been developed at this time. The Wild Horse Valley Association has its own newsletter and listserv, and holds special events for members throughout the year.
I.V.C. Fields at the Indian Valley Campus of College of Marin

These lighted softball and soccer fields at the western edge of the College of Marin's Indian Valley campus areMore maintained by the city of Novato. The complex is one of the few athletic fields in Novato with lights. Adult recreational leagues and youth leagues host games at the Ignacio location. The park is on the edge of an open space and includes tall backstops, bleachers and restrooms. Several popular trails branch off from the fields.
