The Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve is just less than 1,600 acres and managed by the Marin County Open Space District. Hikers will pass through wide-open grasslands and dense forests of oak and bay trees on their way to the summit. Hidden Lake is a small, seasonal pond about halfway to the top and slightly to the west summit. The complex is one of the few athletic fields in Novato with lights. Adult recreational leagues and kids' leagues host games at the Ignacio location. The park is on the edge of an open space and includes tall backstops, bleachers and restrooms. Several popular trails branch off from the fields.
