In the quiet northwest portion of Novato, "Tags" is a very popular lunchtime destination and somewhat of a sanctuary for Novato's Italian-Americans.

The deli counter serves up tasty hot and cold sandwiches and panini, while prepared foods include homemade salads, lasagna, ravioli and eggplant Parmigiana. The eatery also offers a special catering menu that includes sandwiches by the foot, huge panini platters and appetizers like frittata and bruschetta. Customers can place their orders by phone or fax, or by stopping into the store and talking to the friendly staff in person. During busy lunch hours, customers need to take a number (especially when there's a rush of students from nearby San Marin High School), but otherwise the staff is ready to help as soon as you walk in.
