I want to personally thank the Novato Police Department and it's officers for diffusing thisRead More difficult situation, and doing so without what could have been the worst case scenario. I say this because a firearm had been discharged by a person with questionable faculties. Thank You Novato Police for making our community a safe haven. Sincerely, William Jablon - Owner of Double Crossed Wines
When ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents searched Jose Alberto Centurion-Cruz's Sunnyvale residence, they say they found more than 100 sexually explicit videos of minors on his laptop computer and other digital media.
Bob April 15, 2014 at 07:48 am
When this guy was released did they really think he was going to show up for his hearing? He isRead More probably back in his home country but with all the sanctuary cities around, he could be living among us.
novato 3per April 15, 2014 at 08:53 am
We have a lot more people yet to wake up.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr April 15, 2014 at 01:24 pm
Because Jose Alberto Centurion-Cruz, aka Jose Alberto Cruz is already in the ICE data base, he hasRead More probably already been convicted of another crime and deported. But he just came here to improve his life, so we should excuse all of his crimes. Do you want to know something funny? Our border with Canada is more tightly guarded and enforced that is our southern border. Television interview, it takes a woman 2 hours to clear border/customs to visit her uncle across the Canadian border about 500 feet from where she lives. You are correct. We have A LOT of people to wake up. As I told the City Council, you will not wake up until it is your daughter or your grand daughter who is the victim. Remember, illegal aliens vote for only one party, and they do vote.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for a positive identification of the subject pictured above. The subject is possibly from a Central American country. Anyone with information is urged to call the Novato Police Department at (415) 899-7032.
Gram April 9, 2014 at 10:08 am
Thank you, novato 3per! In total agreement!!!
M. Manzano April 9, 2014 at 01:08 pm
He's probably hanging out in another sanctuary city other than Novato. Either that or he's goneRead More South, and will return one day soon with a new identity to avoid persecution by those evil white racists in America. Mission Street in S.F. has a fake I.D. racket for illegals that's practically a news stand.

Ariana Jacqueline Falesoga April 11, 2014 at 07:34 pm
RIP Jimmy he was a good guy he did not deserve this.I cant believe how you guys could talk all thisRead More nonsense with out even knowing him. All that hate talk is not going to fix or help this violence problem. Has nothing to do with race. Marin county is seeing more fights, gangs, stabbings, shootings, deaths. The kids are being influenced. I think everyone should try to help & fix our community we all call home. Dont play the blame game because if you do nothing to help your just as bad. PEACE LOVE & HAPPINESS.
novato 3per April 11, 2014 at 09:25 pm
Ariana. Im sorry for the loss of your loved one or family member. Perhaps he changed his ways atRead More some point, or was a fun guy in between his crimes. Unfortunately for Jimmy, we are judging him by the only elements we know- his actions and associations - which are alarming to responsible law abiding parents and citizens in a county that used to enjoy low crime levels. Marin is seeing a lot more gangs, and we cannot pretend that race is not a factor when it is, or perhaps it is better stated as a question of nationality. We are not seeing more white gangs, asian gangs , or black gangs. We are seeing more latino gangs and serious related criminal activity as a direct result of liberal immigration policies. I have to call it like it is because that is the way they made it and are bringing it to my family's doorstep. A line has to be drawn at some point, and these bad actors are forcing a long overdue conversation. Im born and raised here over 40 years, so I know what Im talking about. And you're going to have to trust me when I tell you that I AM doing more than just talk about it to help fix this situation. Peace and Love to you too, sweetheart, and to every legal immigrant and their families that live an honest law abiding life with love and respect for our country and do the right thing in their community.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr April 12, 2014 at 06:50 pm
I told you so.
Al Nymous April 5, 2014 at 09:58 pm
So..Bubba is pro Nazi Germany style checking of papers and obeying the law. You and spam hanging outRead More under the socialist bridge on 7th St.?.. Unless there is a epidemic of drunk people smashing into things (besides teenagers), the overpriced and unconstitutional DUI checkpoints are unnecessary.
rex allen April 6, 2014 at 06:30 pm
798 checkpoint stops and all they get is ONE DUI arrest!! What a colossal waste of resources thatRead More could have been used fighting actual CRIME. (And no, there's no way we can know that one DUI would have caused any negative outcome). Typical govt. stupidity.
Roger April 6, 2014 at 08:39 pm
9 unlicensed drivers cited, but no real punishment. How many actually pay a fine? I bet less thanRead More 10%. Just give a fake name and address to the cop, and no way can they track down the violator later. No cars were towed. A new law allows illegal immigrants to get licenses, but I bet less than 20% will, because then they could really be tracked down for fines not paid.
Ginny April 2, 2014 at 06:31 am
What am I missing... "A few hours later, a body was found" Who was this?
markrpope April 2, 2014 at 08:32 am
First, good thing he didn't kill someone. Second, that's why most states much poorer that CaliforniaRead More install guard rails.
NovatoRes April 2, 2014 at 12:00 pm
The fact that he had a condition that would make him susceptible to disorientation is a huge riskRead More factor for driving - especially someone his age. Hopefully this will move more to have "the talk" with aging family members that its time to retire the car keys. If not for their sake, for the sake of others on the road. My condolences to the family.
Rick Voorhees April 2, 2014 at 08:58 am
I'm going to make sure I'm not near you Craig when I drive... I hate to tell ya your wrong on thisRead More issue..Cell phones are the new hazards of the road now. There are some bad drivers but when you have a bad driver texting or talking you have yourself a hazard on the road period....As far as eating, brushing your teeth well that's just as bad....
Al Nymous April 2, 2014 at 09:30 am
....And the state is cashing in on all the citations for cell phones when the real problem isRead More distracted driving. So, how long do we allow the arm of the law to reach into your life? If law is written that distracted driving is a violation, then that gives an officer infinite reasons to pull you over.
Rick Voorhees April 2, 2014 at 09:49 am
Hey, the moral of the story is focus on driving the freaking car and pay attention so you aren'tRead More distracted. Then you don't have to worry about the cops.. Common sense here...

@unclemookie: I think it's NRA's gift basket for this year. They're calling it Box 'o Gun. RetailRead More price: your second grade child and one year subscription.

The real question is why are they removing trees!?! I don't care what kind they are. We need everyRead More tree out there. Btw, CalTrans needs to replace all the trees they killed along the roadway here in Novato when putting in the extra lanes. You can still see them , tall beautiful trees... Dead.
novato 3per March 31, 2014 at 04:50 pm
As far as Im concerned they can take every last eucalyptus.

That is wallet and credit card theft, not "identity theft" which happens in computers.
Concerned Citizen March 30, 2014 at 09:53 am
Lou correct. Identity theft is way more insidious. those that destroy other peoples lives should beRead More made to make their victims whole. It is time for a little practical "eye for an eye" justice. Imagine when they find out it will take 10 years at minimum wage on a road gang or whatever else criminals should be doing to pay society back for their misdeeds instead of being released early for overcrowding bcause there are no real consequences for breaking the law.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 30, 2014 at 03:12 pm
Is it really a criminal offense if someone is so stupid as to leave their wallet in their car? WeRead More do have pockets in clothing now. I did not read anything about the car window being broken either.
novato 3per March 28, 2014 at 05:40 pm
A big reset button being pushed in this country. A time of reckoning and accountability for all whoRead More brought us down this path.

If this was a dead , barely legal 19 year old girl at the hands of her almost pedophileRead More "lover" nearly 3 times her age I think the story would be generating more controversy. Is it just dismissed because its a gay thing?
novato 3per April 9, 2014 at 04:54 pm
Angela , looks like your comment is deleted. Sorry about the loss of your friend.
Novato police will soon be wearing cameras similar to this. Photo courtesy: NPR
sheryl March 27, 2014 at 09:44 pm
I wonder if these cameras are always "rolling" when on vs. the officer having the abilityRead More to turn camera on/off when desired?
Hopkin March 28, 2014 at 12:03 am
Sheryl, I'm sure they can be turned off - either with an actual button or just by taking theRead More batteries out.

Why didn't Target ask for a second piece of ID on such an expensive purchase?? Actually for anyRead More purchase using a credit card, another ID should be required.
M. Manzano March 27, 2014 at 08:25 am
Senator Leland Yee, the 8th District, anti-second amendment Democrat varmint was busted by the fedsRead More this morning at his home in the illegal alien sanctuary of San Francisco for arms trafficking and campaign fraud. This is the Democrat party running your state for the last few decades. You better think before you vote next time, citizens.
novato 3per March 27, 2014 at 08:46 am

our elected officials continue their totally failed war on drugs because it is such a big moneyRead More maker for all of them. Most drugs need to be decriminalized and many need to be made legal. The failed policies by our government are directly to blame for the out of control problems with drugs. Our controlling lawmakers think they can control drug use through laws. THEY HAVE BEEN PROVEN WRONG AT EVERY TURN YET THEY CONTINUE WITH THE SAME POLICIES. That is called insanity but the game they play is with our money. They have created huge government to waste money on. All a failure yet they continue. We must find a way to take back control from the now many in politics who continue to flat our lie to us all in the name of protecting us from ourselves. Insanity? YES! Feinstein's comments yesterday regarding her personal concern about legalizing marijuana tell us all we need to know about an out of touch old guard government. I don't care what Feinstein thinks and we need to get rid of all of the politicians like her who enrich themselves at taxpayer expense while working on their own agenda. And you can't blame just old men as CA has been represented by mostly women for some time now. Different sex... same out of touch manipulating focus. Change is coming.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 23, 2014 at 11:24 am
There was nothing "broken" about our immigration laws when LBJ threw all of them out, withRead More the bath water. The Bracero program provided needed agricultural workers, and it worked from 1945 to 1964. The US still makes legal immigrants of through five years of hoops, while anyone who sneaks in gets a "Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free" pass. Anyone and everyone who entered illegally should be returned to their country of origin. Asylum is afforded to anyone who fears return to their country of origin; that applies to 98% of the world's population, including imported criminals. There are more exceptions than rules. And do not speak out or the political correctness police will arrest YOU.
Al Nymous March 23, 2014 at 11:11 pm
I can't make sense of it either. Sometimes these violent posts bring out some people who need to sayRead More something, but can't make a direct point about it.
Hopkin March 23, 2014 at 11:15 pm
Man, all you guys are posting after 11pm... You better watch out or Sam will accuse you ofRead More "sipping & typing"!
Al Nymous March 23, 2014 at 11:22 pm
Buzzed typing is drunk typing.

Ever since moving here in 2010, I have wondered why Californians have such little respect for theRead More earth so many vehemently fight to "protect." California highways are some of the trashiest I have ever driven on.
novato 3per March 21, 2014 at 08:04 am
California has a large population of foreigners who give a rat's ass about the beauty of our land,Read More they are only here to take benefits and send send tax free income to their home country. California also has liberal policies that create irresponsible selfish people. I'm all in favor of steeper penalties and better enforcement of litter laws.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 17, 2014 at 07:15 pm
Than Sacramento "representatives" for not representing our welfare with terminal DUI laws.

Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 12, 2014 at 07:53 am
Thank you to the Park Service, Coast Guard, and CHP rescuers because we all have a more secure lifeRead More knowing that they are there for us when we would need them most, not just in the ocean, but on the trails, mountains, and roads; whatever our emergency.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 12, 2014 at 07:57 am
Still? No Police Blotter. Has George Orwell taken over records at the Novato Police Department andRead More reserved dispatches are now covered by Newspeak laws that forbid online newspapers from reporting the news? It seems so. Remember, YOU elected them. I did not. Read "Nineteen Eighty Four". It is now a history book.
Concerned Citizen March 6, 2014 at 10:03 pm
Death row = 25+ years of special privilege and huge costs. why even have if they wait for them toRead More die of old age?
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 7, 2014 at 05:40 pm
On Death Row 26 years because "activist" judges in California are against the deathRead More penalty regardless of the laws of California and the repeated will and voting of the citizens. Who is there to protect us if the courts refuse to do so? MBFH!
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 9, 2014 at 11:05 pm
Nothing? Hello out there. A pulse? A breath? An opinion.
novato 3per March 7, 2014 at 06:46 pm
Somebody also changed course at the Marin County Sheriff's office and perhaps at the MarinRead More Independent Journal as well, as they used to indicate alienage with mention that the individual was being held on a no-bond federal immigration hold. It hardly matters anymore, because the AB4"Trust Act" was signed and implemented by the governor and nobody in this county seems to have a problem with it! I guess we'll have to wait for the crimes to accumulate and more blood to be shed. Head in the sand, zombie lib's.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 8, 2014 at 09:46 am
Hi. I am nobody.
Jerome J Ghigliotti Jr March 9, 2014 at 11:10 pm
I was posting the illegal aliens and their "accused" crimes in no bail federal hold to theRead More Marin online newspapers until the Marin County powers that be decided that the sheriff must delete that information from the jail data. There was about 2 dozen in custody awaiting trial any given week. and the crimes ranged from DUI, to drug and weapons charges, to molesting children under 14 years old (a LOT of those). Look up "transparency" in the book "Nineteen Eighty Four".
