Each year Soroptimist International of Novato hosts a special membership meeting for the members, guests, and anybody who might be interested in learning about the club. This is an opportunity for us to spend some time together and for others to get to know our club and members.
To make this a memorable event; Pauline Stuber, our Speaker Program chair, looked long and hard for distinct speakers. Mr. Michael Hingson, the blind 9-11 survivor led down 78 flights of stairs by his guide dog Rosie, drew a standing ovation when he spoke at the 2011 membership meeting.
Being this is the first time San Francisco hosts the prestigious, international sailboat racing event, America’s Cup World Series (www.americascup.com), SI Novato is very excited to have the America’s Cup’s two top, inspiriting women to come and give us an overview and their perspective of the America’s Cup.
Speaker Rosie Spaulding is the Head of Venue and Partner Integration, and speaker Jill Savery is the Head of Sustainability for America’s Cup Event Authority.
Consider the scope, the prestige, the excitement and the major social and economic impact the America’s Cup has on the Bay Area, this is definitely a speech you don’t want to miss.
