'Hot Topics in Today's Nutrition' with Dietitian Kim Kulp

Registered Dietitian talks about Gluten Free, Pre-Biotics/Probiotics, Coconut Oil, Juicing, Childhood Obesity

My friend, Kim Kulp, a registered dietitian, made a very well received presentation at my club, Novato Sunrise Rotary Club, last year.  Thinking how much her knowledge could benefit the public, I invited her to be a guest speaker on the Sounding Board.

As a practicing dietitian who consults and practices in hospitals and private practice, and teaches weight managment classes, Kim thought talking about “Hot Topics in Today’s Nutrition” would be beneficial to all.

Being a first time moderator, the taping was a little nerve-breaking for me; as I worried about my interview style, accent and inexperience; wondered if that might undermine Kim’s presentation.

‘HOT TOPICS IN TODAY'S NUTRITION’

After brief explanation about what sets a Registered Dietitian apart from nutritionist and dietitian, Kim touched upon the following five topics:

1)      Should everyone be eating gluten free?

2)      Pre-biotics and probiotics, what can they do for us?

3)      Coconut oil and water, is it really healthy?

4)      Juicing, is it the key to better health and weight loss?

5)      Childhood Obesity, what can we do as parents?

Hope you learn as much as I did!  Enjoy and do share this with your friends who might benefit from this valuable information!
