Giving Back — and Keeping It Here in Novato

Here you will find stories about how the Businesses and people of Novato chose to keep their business local - to support the growth of our community here. Join in the conversation!

In reporting on stories about how Novato residents and businesses made decisions to keep their resources here in the community, this blog hopes to inspire more people to give back by "buying local."

Tell us about a decision you made to keep your resources here in our community. Here are some examples:

Marin School of the Arts was considering sending all their printing to a San Francisco printer.  Instead they chose to print their materials here in Novato at Zip Zenith Printing.  Zip Zenith gives generously to our community.  Thanks MSA for keeping your business here and supporting the community that supports you.

I was in Continental Jewelers today. They just received the Small Business of the Year Award from the Novato Chamber of Commerce for their service to the community.  I took some jewelry repair work to them as a result of their award, as our way of thanking them for their service. While in the store they were approached by some parents from a local school to donate for the school fundraiser.  I overheard Eva say "Always!" with such inviting energy.  Easy to see why they won the award!

If you know something about what someone else did to Give Back and keep it here in Novato, add to our conversation.  This is the Good News Blog!
