Superintendent Gives Most Of His Salary Back To Schools.

There are good deeds going on in Fresno. Yes, Larry
Powell, runs their school system. Profoundly upset by the cuts to education,
Larry and his wife decided to do something about it.

They donated $800,000, nearly all of his three years’ salary, to protect his preschool and arts program.  Larry Powell is one good man to remind us how
much ‘louder’ actions speak than words, and how much more eloquently.

Maybe the CEO’s of Big Banks who took $20M bonuses in losing years will give it back for a good cause.

How A 10-Year Old Took On The Canadian Pipelines—Through Song

Pro or con, you have to admire 10 year old Ta’Kaiya Blaney. She stood outside of the official building in Canada. Ta’Kaiya had a song in hand she had written and wanted to sing to the officials.

The proposed building of the TransCanada pipeline that would connect the Canadian tar sands to the U.S. Gulf Coast is widely opposed. It would bring hundreds of oil supertankers a year to the Great Bear Rain Forest—an ecologically significant region.

While Tai wasn’t granted an audience, Premier Christy Clark sent her an email, “watched you and your YouTube video and commend your talent. Your message is very clear---we must be concerned about the environment.”
