Novato Patch received an amazing response from readers Saturday night when the of ’s North Coast Section Division III boys basketball championship game included a running commentary, so that style of coverage will continue as long as the team is alive in the playoffs.

For those unfamiliar, one story is created on the Novato Patch site and updated every few minutes with more details as the game goes on. Readers can refresh the story and follow the team’s progress as it faces off against the winner of Tuesday’s first-round NorCal playoff game between Center High of Antelope (north of Sacramento) vs. Paradise High of Paradise (near Chico).

San Marin has 29 wins out of 33 games this season and is one of the top Division III teams in the state. It earned a No. 3 seeding in the state championship tournament’s Northern California bracket by virtue of its 47-44 victory over El Cerrito in the section title game Saturday at St. Mary’s College in Moraga.
