San Rafael Pacifics Stage First Open Tryout

Experienced players are invited to show up at Laney College in Oakland on Sunday morning to earn a spot with Marin's only pro baseball squad.

The San Rafael Pacifics, Marin's new pro baseball team, will stage its first open tryouts Sunday at Laney College in Oakland, the team announced.  

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. at the college's baseball complex at 900 Fallon St. in Oakland, and the tryout starts promptly at 9 a.m. All players will be required to sign a waiver prior to being assigned an official tryout number. Proper baseball attire is required.

The Pacifics suggest that prospective players have professional or college playing experience. Major League Baseball scouts will be in attendance.

This is the third location porposed for the tryouts. , but a scheduling conflict caused the tryouts to be moved to Benedetti Field at University of San Francisco. An ongoing construction project made Benedetti Field unavailable.

To register in advance, call the Pacifics at (415) 485-1563, or email info@pacificsbaseball.com with your name and phone number and a member of our staff will contact you. The registration fee is $100 for players who register in advance or $150 to register the day of the tryout.
