Novato Players Help North Bay Lacrosse Team Capture Title

A lacrosse team with several Novato players won the under-17 division of a prestigious tournament in the Palm Springs area over the weekend.

 According to team parent Tim Dalton, Novato players played on Team Cadillax and led them to a 5-0 record against prominent teams from Southern California to win the Sandstorm 2011 Tournament at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. The North Bay team was led by Matt Vosburg, who also coaches for the Novato Lacrosse Club.

Novato residents Andy Schimmel (San Marin High) team Johnny Murphy (Marin Catholic) teamed with Novato High students Will Colburn, Max McKone, Cole Aikens and Charlie Dalton on Team Cadillax, which beat the Los Angeles Mavericks 9-4 in the title game Sunday.
