MCAL Honors Powerful Albini-Bruschera Battery

San Marin juniors earn first-team all-league honors in softball; Mustangs teammate Bridget Pacchetti and Novato's Tess Feyling are named to the honorable mention list.

Junior pitcher was named to the All-Marin County Athletic League first team for the third consecutive year and this time was joined by her batterymate, junior catcher , when the league honored its top girls softball players Monday.

Albini and Bruschera led the Mustangs into the MCAL and North Coast Section playoffs as part of a strong junior class that also features shortstop , who was placed on the Honorable Mention list.

Novato's joined Pacchetti among the Honorable Mention performers, the only Hornet earning All-MCAL distinction.

Joining Albini and Bruschera on the All-MCAL first team were Tam's Kim Scarsella and Stephanie Lee, Redwood's Lindsey Matteo and Megan Atkinson, Terra Linda's Ally Lucchi, Marin Catholic's Neika Petersen and San Rafael's Brianna Williams.

Redwood's Annie Boyer was selected as the Pitcher of the Year, while Justin-Siena's Hailey Breakwell earned Player of the Year honors for the second year in a row.
