The Steven L. Rucker Memorial Golf Tournament, which honors a fallen firefighter from Novato and raises money for chartitable causes, is set for Monday, Sept. 19, at StoneTree Golf Course.
Steven Rucker of the Novato Fire District perished in the line of duty Oct. 29, 2003 while battling the Cedar Fire outside of San Diego. Since 2004, the golf tournament has raised more than $70,000 that has been distributed to the district's Fire Squirts camp for kids, the Steven Rucker Scholarships and the automated defibrillator program. Please help us honor Steve with your continued participation.
Registration opens at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by a barbecue and putting contest at 11 a.m. and a four-person scramble tee off at noon. There will be contests for longest drive and closest to the pin during tournament play plus a raffle and auction afterward.

The cost is $150 per person, and foursomes are urged to sign up together.
