Star Hike at Mount Burdell

Rangers will lead a
short hike up Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve where we will settle in to
watch the autumn evening sky emerge into a stargazing adventure. Come view
“Outer Space from Open Space” as we identify the major constellations and talk
about the legends behind them. Local astronomer Larry Brodkin will be there to
help participants get a deep view into the heavens with his 8” Meade Telescope.
Stargazers should wear warm, layered clothes, and bring binoculars or a
telescope, flashlight, blankets, water, snacks, star charts, and clear vision. Questions: Contact Rich Gibson at (415) 473-2816 or RGibson@marincounty.org. Meet at the San Andreas Trailhead in
Novato. From Hwy 101, take the Atherton Ave/San Marin Dr exit west on San Marin
Dr for 2.3 miles. Turn right at San Andreas Dr. Gate is near the end on the
right.
