Marin County Open Space District Naturalist David Herlocker will lead a family naturalist outing on at Deer Island Open Space Preserve in Novato. The forests, grasslands, and marshes of this preserve are home to a great variety of reptiles, insects, birds, and other animals. Bring your favorite junior naturalists and prepare to be amazed at what their sharp eyes can find.
The hike will be at an easy pace on gentle to moderate slopes. Wear sturdy shoes and layered clothes, and bring water and lunch for everyone in your group. We request that no animals (except service animals) attend.
