All Three Novato North All-Star Teams Still Alive

The Novato North Little League’s 9-10 All-Stars finished strong in pool play to finish in a tie for first place entering the single-elimination portion of the District 3 All-Star Tournament.

The 9-10’s were one of three Novato North entries to qualify for the tournament quarterfinals, which begin Saturday. Novato South and Novato American each will have one representative going forward.

Needing two wins in the final week of pool play to keep pace with the division leaders, the Novato North 9-10’s outlasted its rival from Novato American 12-6 behind winning pitcher Connor Moylan’s two hits walks.

Spencer Shifs added to the attack with a bomb to the fence for a double that brought home a couple of runs. Jake Schmidt and Nathan Williams also chipped in with a pair of RBIs apiece.

“(That) was fun because many of my kids are schoolmates or just friends of the kids on American,” noted Novato North manager Brian Moylan. “Our parents were sitting and cheering together.”

Novato North then assured it would tie for first place in pool play Thursday with a tough 3-2 win over Twin Cities at Babe Silva Field.

NOVATO NORTH

11-12-Year-Old All-Stars
