Popular Radio Talk Show Host Moves to Novato

KGO's Gil Gross and his wife buy a million-dollar house. Welcome to the neighborhood!

You can hear him on KGO radio, and now you may be able to see him around Novato.

Veteran radio journalist Gil Gross, who hosts an afternoon talk show on the Bay Area’s legendary talk radio station, KGO-AM 810, is one of our city’s newest residents.

Gross and his wife Rhoda Bodzin, a professional singer, closed escrow last month on a beautiful house in the Pleasant Valley area of west Novato.  They paid just north of $1 million, according to the local MLS.

Out of respect for his privacy, I won’t mention the address, but the home is almost 3,600 square feet and has views and a pool. I toured the house when it was on the broker’s tour and it was updated inside with top of the line appliances and high-end finishes.  The outside of the house isn’t flashy, but very charming and the place is much bigger inside than it appears from the curb.

Gross’ show airs on weekdays on KGO from 2-4 p.m.  As you may recall, Gross replaced the late Pete Wilson (another Marin resident) at KGO in 2007. Gross had been an ABC news correspondent.

Today, Gross also does a nationally syndicated real estate show on Saturdays on KSFO radio.

As a talk show host, Gross is entertaining because he has a great sense of humor and he is very knowledgeable about a whole host of local, national and international issues.

According to his bio, he’s been a journalist for more than 30 years. He became the youngest anchorman in ABC News history when at the age of 23 he anchored network newscasts from the ABC Chicago Bureau. Gross was the main substitute host for Paul Harvey on the ABC radio show Paul Harvey's News & Comment.

Gil and Rhoda, welcome to the neighborhood and we hope you’ll love it here!
