Prison escapee arrested in Santa Rosa

A Santa Rosa man wanted for escaping from Lompoc Federal Prison was arrested Friday and subsequently connected with a suspected marijuana cultivation and sales operation, police said.

Domingo Tamayo, 34, of Santa Rosa was arrested at 8 a.m. Friday on an outstanding federal warrant for escaping from prison. Santa Rosa police detectives and officers on the gang crimes, violent crimes, and narcotic teams then served search warrants at several locations in Santa Rosa, according to police.

During the searches, detectives uncovered a suspected marijuana cultivation and sales operation, including approximately 50 pounds of marijuana, a loaded handgun and $10,000 in cash, according to police.
