Pick of the Week: Finnegan's Marin

Finnegan’s Marin, located at 877 Grant Avenue, is a popular family-friendly Irish pub and grill in the heart of Old Town Novato. Since opening in 2006, this venue has been a local favorite where patrons gather for good food, a happening bar scene with live entertainment, and warm Old-World ambience. Proprietor Henry Hautau fashioned the business after his grandfather’s New Jersey pub by the same name, and has continued the down-home, community oriented vibe that he grew to love there. Open 365 days a year, the restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily and hearty breakfast fare on the weekends.

Customers regularly congregate at the pub’s beautifully designed full bar for spirited conversation and the chance to watch their favorite sports teams on the four HD TV screens. The nightly Happy Hour from 3:00pm-6:00pm is one of Marin’s best and features discounted drinks, a great bar food menu, and an extensive selection of draught and bottled beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and Irish Whiskeys. Enjoy great music and dancing on Saturday nights at no cover charge (ever!).

The restaurant’s diverse lunch & dinner menu offers popular pub-style starters like Potato Irish Nachos and Fiery Smoke House Wings, as well as more sophisticated fare like Brie Double Cream Cheese & Roasted Garlic with tomato chutney & crostini. Entrees run the gambit from traditional salads, flatbread pizzas, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and specialty pasta, to Irish favorites like Shepherd’s Pie, Dublin Pot Roast, Corned Beef, and Finnegan’s Famous Guinness Beer Battered Fish & Chips. A fresh Catch of the Day and huge grilled steaks round out the selections. Kids 12 and under eat free from the Little Leprechaun menu every Sunday from 5:00pm-10:00pm with the purchase of one adult entree per child.
