The Marin School of the Arts at Novato High School launched its 10th Year Anniversary program as a community event in front of 500 people gathered at Pacheco Plaza on Friday evening, Sept. 21, for the Plaza’s final Summer Music Series Concert of 2012.
MSA brought its “Soiree on the Road” and entertained the crowd with performance after performance by the Dance, Creative Writing, Music (Jazz, Vocal and Chamber) and Theater programs. The Arts Desire gallery at the Plaza also featured both works by Visual Arts students and a huge interactive mural where everyone could paint and add their own personal art work to the piece.
More than 75 MSA students performed, added art work, helped to emcee the event, and acted as stage managers on this wonderfully warm Indian Summer evening at the Plaza.
Special thanks to Megan Gast of Pacheco Plaza who brought MSA to the Plaza and provided a great venue. Special thanks also to Novato High School Principal Ray Mayoral and MSA Director Mark Peabody for continuing the vision of this tremendous program that has entered its 10th Year at Novato High School.
MSA has become one of the most successful arts curriculum program in Marin County and all of California and we in Novato and Marin County are very proud of the accomplishments of all current and past students, teachers, administrators, and parent volunteers.
MSA's next “Soiree on the Road” will be at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Oct. 12.
