Ride, Walk, Stroll at School Fuel's Upcoming Tour of Novato

Join the cycling event and fun fair May 5 benefits programs in Novato public schools.

Approximately 36 days, 19 hours, 8 minutes and 49 seconds remain until School Fuel's annual Tour of Novato, but who's counting?

Excitement is building as teams of riders training together, but it is not too late to join the fun. Training rides, long and short, leave from the intersection of San Marin Drive and Novato Boulevard every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Remember, it does not matter what school you are riding for ... we are doing this together.

The Tour of Novato has a few changes this year, but the same goal: to raise money to benefit your local school and the Foundation for Public Schools: School Fuel.

The event has broadened its appeal by including walkers and has moved from the San Marin High School campus to and city green. These changes will facilitate the involvement of the entire Novato community. After all, that is what makes Novato special.

You can also support this event by volunteering or attending the Fun Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5. Prepare to relax and enjoy free performances from our very own talented Novato students. There will also be a carnival with games and interactive opportunities. Tickets for the carnival are $10 per person or $25 per family and will provide unlimited access to fun.

Mark it on your calendar. I hope to see you walk, ride, volunteer or stroll at this event.
