This was such a great event! Thank you Mr. Cline for bringing this to San Ramon. I am hoping other schools in Novato will follow suit. What a wonderful day. The JROTC did a great job!
Special thanks to all our men and women who have served and who are currently in our Military.

Thanks to Mr. Cline and his staff for such a great event. A real joy to vsit and watch the students put on a flawless presentation. Intelligent and respectful questions from the students were well appreciated. Special thanks to Rebecca, Zoe and Chloe.

Loved the pride on the kids’ faces, the posters, the songs, the slideshow...all of it! Super touching and memorable for everyone in attendance. I look forward to this event becoming a San Ramon tradition!

Fantastic!!!! San Ramon has set the bar very high for next year. Every school should do this event next year to show our appreciation for our true heroes. Businesses should do their part to honor Veteran's Day by doing something for them, not just to have big sales on the weekend. Organizations can also honor veterans. Many years ago when i was President of a Club, we had a meeting around Veteran's Day. During self-introductions I asked any person how had served in the military to give us a one minute narrative on their military service. Half the membership had served in some military capacity. I had only known of a few having served.

Yes, this should be a NUSD-wide event to honor all veterans in our community, to educate our students about our history and to involve the Jr. ROTC. San Ramon has a great example of a well-run event that could be duplicated.

That was awesome!! Great job San Ramon School!! Wish our childs public school in the district did that. My husband and I have been bothered that there is no American flag at our school, no Pledge of Allegiance, not much to about nothing in regards to celebrating America at our school. Other countries seem to be celebrated, but not much of America at our school. Again...awesome job San Ramon!!

Wonderful school in Novato, the only difference in many schools are parent participation; and the administrators who "encourage parents to participate." There is a difference in the students willingness to learn.

What a wonderful event for San Ramon to organize. Both of my children attended San Ramon and my younger son is currently a second year cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Thank you to the teachers at San Ramon who set him on his path toward success!

This was emailed to me by someone who attended. So many Bay Area Residents oppose Governments PlanRead More Bay Area.

Susan thank you for posting this. Chris Pareja is an articulate speaker whose message needs to beRead More acknowledged. While community activists claim Plan Bay Area is the answer Chris uses their own statistics to point out how little is accomplished and the real hypocrisy behind advocates claims that it will provide "equity". Chris attended the Plan Bay Area Debate at the Civic Center and spoke there as well. Kinsey completely ignored his comments and kept repeating the party line: Plan Bay Area is the only answer we have so it is "good enough." Anyone who hasn't yet should take the time to watch the debate as it is a real eye opener. Kinsey's responses are quite disconcerting if he is being touted as the local expert on Plan Bay Area. I was shocked by how little he seems to understand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOE7Hyd5B40&feature=youtu.be

Which is a fair assumption since my name and face are on it for now. Sorry for the confusion. In theRead More interim, I am more than happy to answer questions or address any concerns about the new design or our coverage of the community.
Tina McMillan June 17, 2013 at 01:03 pm
Jim What is the best way to reach you with questions and offers of help? If there is a way toRead More personalize each Patch to its community that would make a huge difference. Brent would post news articles as the primary focus. The comparison to a "penny saver" is the biggest problem with the new design. It does not favor news which is what many people are interested in. If San Rafael Patch is hosting the Plan Bay Area articles then doesn't it make sense to cross post them to Novato's front page too? Looking for news was never a problem with the old Patch, now finding the news in the middle of the garage sales, ads for businesses and announcements is where many people are stuck. It's unfortunate that Back Bay is the old design. It means corporate is throwing out what was the best of Patch. Is there anyone to write to, to suggest that the changes in format are not supportive of a online news source?
