If your kids are anything like mine, they started focusing on Spring Break right about the time they returned to school after Ski Week. When you come back from your Spring Break comings and goings, there are several chances for you to ease your way into continuing to support all of Novato public schools.
Every Saturday and Sunday in April, except Easter, you can enjoy brunch at Finnegan’s Marin and will receive 15 percent back. No flier needed. Just mention OLL, and fine folks at Finnegan’s will fork over the 15 percent.

On Wednesday, April 18, there’s the big Dine & Donate at . A full 25 percent of the day’s proceeds go to support in its pursuit of a new Risograph copy machine. Olive aims to buy this $6,500 machine in time for the 2013-14 school year, and they are just over a third of the way to their goal. I’ll upload a flier for the event as soon as it’s available. Make sure you bring the flier whatever meal you’re headed to Chevy’s for on April 18.

is stepping up once again to support through the “Drive One 4 UR School at Journey Ford” on Sunday, April 29. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., come in, test drive a new Ford car or truck, and Ford Motor Company will kick in $20 to the NHS sport of your choice and Journey Ford will kick in another $5 to the NHS Sports Boosters general fund. It’s a snap. It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes. I can speak from experience on this one: there is no pressure to buy. (Although if you’re of the mind to buy, I’m guessing they’ll let you.) Anyone 18 or older with a valid driver’s license can drive.

Saturday, May 5, is fast approaching. That’s the day of the annual Tour of Novato and FunFair. There will be lots to do that day: ride a 12K, a 50K or even a 70K, do the 5K walk, have a blast at the FunFair Carnival & Education Showcase at the finish line. But well in advance of the day, you need to register if you’re going to ride. If you can’t ride, how about choosing a rider to sponsor? And, if you’re not entirely sure who to sponsor, send me a note and I’ll suggest some riders for you. Granted, they’ll be ones riding for my kids’ schools, but I’m guessing you already figured that out. Take a look at the uploaded flier for more information.
