Special Meeting of School Board at 8 a.m. Saturday on Middle School Boundaries

Trustees want to hear from the public on geographic dividing line for 2011-2012 prompted by the closure of Hill Middle School.

If there's nothing you'd rather do on a Saturday morning than attend a school board meeting, you are in luck.

The Board of Trustees is taking up the issue of new middle school boundaries for the 2011-12 school year at an 8 a.m. meeting March 12. The subject was brought on by the January , distribute the kids to the other middle schools and then reopen hill as an alternative education center.

New maps that show the streets that will be used as dividing lines for the boundaries are available on the district's website, www.nusd.org; look for the  "March 12 Board Meeting-Agenda and Report."

The board, which but elected not to make a ruling that day, is urging the public to participate in the decision and encourages residents from all over Novato to voice their concerns before a vote is taken.

The school district office is at 7015 Seventh St., at the corner of Seventh and Grant.
