The NUSD Board of Trustees voted unanimously in early January to close , redistribute students to the other middle schools in the city and reopen the Hill location on Diablo Avenue as an alternative education center. Hill’s scheduled closure has prompted a wildfire-style discussion about where current Hill students will attend next year and where incoming fifth graders who would normally go to Hill would end up.

District spokeswoman Leslie Benjamin said bringing “Urban Legends” back into a prominent spot on the website will answer some questions raised by the public and address misinformation that trickles back to the district office.
