Tour of Novato/FunFair attracts hundreds to San Marin High

Hundreds of people enjoyed the Tour of Novato and Cycling FunFair on Saturday despite some windy conditions during their rides.

The bicycling event and family fun day at San Marin High is set up to raise money for Novato schools. The event raises money through riders who collect tax-deductable sponsorship pledges. Funds goes directly to the school (or schools) of the rider's choice. Last year the combined efforts of the Tour of Novato and the Cycling FunFair raised more than $100,000 for Novato schools.

The big change to the event this year was the combining of the two separate events into one. Mark Uicker and Jeff Wilson, originators of the Tour of Novato, teamed with the nonprofit School Fuel to create a single fundraiser under the direction of School Fuel.
