Middle School Mudfest

Highlights of the annual Sinaloa Turkey Trot, a 44-year tradition in Novato.

The weather was downright nasty on Friday — perfect for the 44th annual Sinaloa Middle School Turkey Trot.

It was cold, rainy and windy, which translated to pristine conditions for the traditional cross-country run through the picturesque school campus on the city's west side. The kids and their families always hope for muddy conditions to add some slippery fun.

This year's overall winners were eighth-grader Conrad Raymond among boys and seventh-grader Grace Olson among girls. The top three boys and girls in each grade win turkeys to take home for a family dinner.
