Tame the Tomatoes

Meet the presenter of the PBS-TV series Weir's Cooking in the City and Weir's Cooking in Wine Country, who will offer a menu to tame a torrent of tasty tomatoes at their peak of flavor and freshness. Her second appearance at Fresh Starts Cooking School features ideas from gazpacho to spice cake that will last throughout the season.

A James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and teacher, this personable chef worked with Alice Waters at Chez Panisse and studied with Madeleine Kamman in New England and France. Her second cookbook, published in 1998 and titled "You Say Tomato," launched a host of seasonal recipes. Please visit the chef's website for more information.

The ticket price of $49 includes a full meal; wine will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit shelter and job-training programs at Homeward Bound. For more information and reservations, please visit Fresh Starts Cooking School online or call 415-382-3363 x243.
