Rwanda Celebration at All Saints Lutheran Church

On Sunday, March 20, there will be a celebration event at All Saints Lutheran Church for two relationships All Saints has in Rwanda (central Africa).  The event will start shortly after worship service, or at about 11 a.m.

The celebrations will be for a five-year-long scholarship support of student Pendo Muzigura, and a three-year-long Sister Parish relationship with Kigali Lutheran Parish.  Pendo is the daughter of Rev. Muzigura Faustin and lives in the outlying village of Nyamata, Rwanda. Kigali Lutheran Parish is in the capital city of Rwanda, and the pastor there is Pr. Prince Kalisa.

There will be an African meal served, prepared by members of All Saints Lutheran.  In addition, there will be a PowerPoint presentation by Molly Calhoun, a senior high school student in Napa who was part of a Lutheran youth delegation to visit Rwanda in June 2010, and she will tell of her experiences in Rwanda.

Tickets are $5 (to cover the costs of the meal).  Please call the All Saints Lutheran office at 892-1669 to advise of your coming, and tickets will be set aside.  Additionally a free will offering will be taken during the event to sustain the ongoing scholarship program for Pendo and the Sister Parish relationship with Kigali Lutheran Parish.
