Mustang Mock Trial Competition People vs. Jesse Woodson

Mock Trial competes against other Marin County High Schools in the annual Marin County Mock Trial Competition to be held January 29th and February 5th at the Marin County Courthouse. Our Mock Trial Team has been practicing for four months to prosecute and defend the case of People v. Jesse Woodson, in which the defendant is on trial for cyber-bullying and assaulting a middle school student with a brick.

Jesse Woodson is on trial for cyber-bullying and assault of Angel Sterling.  The Mustangs prosecution team will attempt to convince a jury of local Marin attorneys that Mr. Woodson is guilty of both charges, while a defense team from Tam, Drake, MC, Branson, Marin Academy or Terra Linda tries to secure a not guilty verdict.  Meanwhile, the Mustangs' defense team will try go for acquittal against another school's prosecution team.  Trials are presided over by Superior Court Judges, with students acting as attorneys, witnesses and courtroom personnel.  After each school has conducted 4 trials (two prosecution and two defense), the winning school will represent Marin County at the California State Competition.
