Dine & Donate Upcoming Opportunities

Easy ways to go about your daily business while at the same time supporting Novato schools.

I'm hopeful quite a few of you were going to sway to the Fall Fling music at San Jose Middle School or drive a spankin' new Lincoln at Novato High School on Sunday or show your support for Vets & Cadets on Thursday. Information about all those events can be found in last week's debut Dine & Donate article.

But, wait, there's more!

All day Wednesday, Nov. 9

Mary’s Pizza Shack, a frequent Dine & Donate partner to schools, is giving 20% of all orders to Olive Elementary School on Wednesday, Nov. 9, when the flyer is presented. Just print out the PDF of the flyer, and off you go. And go Mary’s!

All day Wednesday, Nov. 9

How about pizza at Mary's for lunch and then dinner at Finnegan's Marin (or vice versa) on Nov. 9? Finnegan's is donating 15 percent of every tab of diners on that day who mention to their servers that they're to support Lu Sutton Elementary School. Make sure you write "Lu Sutton" across the bill, too. And try the fish & chips. I know Patch Editor Brent Ainsworth raves about them.

All day every day Monday, Nov. 14 through Friday, Nov. 18

Fernando’s Restaurant is stepping up in a big way in supporting San Jose Middle School. All week, from Nov. 14 through Nov. 18, dine at Fernando’s and the fine people there will donate a percentage of your bill to San Jose. Ole! Again, just print the uploaded flyer, and you're set.

All day Wednesday, Nov. 16

Aurora’s Ristorante is saying, “Benevuto!” to everyone who wants to come dine there on Wednesday, Nov. 16, to support Loma Verde Elementary School. No need to arm yourself with a flyer; just mention that you're dining to support Loma Verde, and Aurora's will donate a percentage of your bill to the school.

Plum District

Daily

Plum District, a local commerce site, has introduced its new Give Back program for local schools and non-profits. You can currently direct 10 percent of each purchase to organizations including School Fuel and local schools. Local businesses such as Matt & Jeff's, Grazie Restaurant and a whole lot more offer deals at half-price savings or more. They get your business. You save money. And Plum District kicks back 10 percent of the amount you spent to wherever you direct. Local mom — and a fine woman in her own right — Lisa Barnes is part of the Plum District force. Take a look at the posted PDF and see if she can help you save money and donate to the schools.

Plan your activities in the coming weeks around these great fundraisers. I know I'm driving a Lincoln on Sunday, bopping in for some fabulous Mary's Pizza and then Finnegan's on Wednesday, and showing support for Vets & Cadets on Thursday. It's minimum day at the elementary sites the week of Nov. 14, so I think I'll be taking some young people to Fernando's and maybe head over to Aurora's on the 16th. Here's hoping a Plum District deal will include a spa day. I'll need it. (OK, I know, you all know I'm not a spa type. Still. Perhaps a car wash, then.)
