Novato Theater Company Receives Six SFBATCC Awards

Novato's 94-year-old theater company receives their first San Francisco Bay Area Theater Critic's Circle (SFBATCC) Awards.

Novato's 94-year-old theater company (founded in 1919) received their first San Francisco Bay Area Theater Critic's Circle (SFBATCC) Awards at the California Ballroom in Oakland on May 6, 2013.

Novato Theater Company is the little company that could. Once again forced to take the show on the road—performing the 2012-2013 Season in multiple locations in San Rafael while looking for a new home—NTC maintained the high quality of shows patrons have come to know and expect.

NTC received 10 nominations in various categories for "Noises Off" and "Nunsense," both directed by Carl Jordan.

Carl received a best director's award for "Noises Off" and best choreographer for "Nunsense."

Frank Sarubbi took the award for best lighting design for "Noises Off," and three actresses, Dani Innocenti-Beem, Debra Harvey, and Pamela Drummer-Williams all took best actress awards for "Nunsense."

NTC received their first SFBATCC nominations for "Unrinetown," directed by Kim Bromley, in 2009, and it has been the right kind of uphill since then, to increasingly more professionally produced shows for its subscribers and patrons.

Don't miss “The Foreigner,” scheduled to open the doors of NTC’s new theater space at 5420 Nave Dr. on May 24.  Go to www.novatotheatercompany.org to buy tickets.
