What's on the City Council Agenda Tonight?

Electric vehicle charging stations and two Habitat for Humanity sites are on the docket.

The Novato City Council on Tuesday is scheduled to discuss the installation of five electric vehicle charging stations that would be paid for by the Transportation Authority of Marin and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

The closed-session meeting starts at 6 p.m. at followed by the open session at 6:30.

If approved, the EV installation would be the first in a phased approach to complete Novato’s portion of the Bay Area EV Corridor, which has been planned the past several years. , a hotel in Ignacio, .

The new proposed locations, pinpointed by the city’s department of public works, are at the Zenk parking lot on Reichert Avenue across from the Millworks Building (two chargers), on Sherman Avenue near Novato City Hall (one charger), the parking lot (one charger) and the lot (one charger).

The council also is to consider a $65.,000 request for financial assistance on Habitat for Humanity projects at 5 Dusel Drive and 7 Boulevard Court. Families selected for the homes live in Novato and work in Novato. The city money would come from the Affordable Ownership Housing Trust Fund, which has a balance of $554,208.

In 2010, the city contributed $65,000 to the first Habitat for Humanity home in Marin history at 1674 Center Road.

In closed session, the council is to discuss a performance evaluation for City Manager Michael Frank. Any public announcements about the evaluation would be made at the start of the open-session meeting at 6:30 p.m.
