Site Tour and Workshop Coming Up for Stafford Lake Bike Park

Planners want to hear more feedback from local riders about what should be incorporated in the off-road cycling facility.

A site tour and design workshop are coming up in the next week for the proposed off-road bicycling facility at just west of Novato.

The Stafford Lake Bike Park is a project of Marin County Department of Parks and Open Space. Steve Petterle, the county’s principal park planner, is working with an East Bay company called Hilride that is serving as chief designer of the bike park. Petterle and Hilride gave a tour of the site in January as well.

Nat Lopes from Hilride will join county planners in leading a tour of the project site starting at 1:30 p.m. March 19. He will go over features proposed for the park and the master plan, and there will be a Q&A session to provide feedback and input. For local riders, this is going to be a key chance to influence the next phase of the site’s design, Petterle said.

On March 23, park planners and Hilride will host a workshop to share more details about the park design and listen to ideas from riders. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the ’s Community Room, 1560 Hill Road, Novato.
