George Quesada’s 37 years of service to the will be trumpeted at a farewell reception Nov. 28, designed to thank the 85-year-old board member for his decades of dedication.
The district’s board and employees invite the public to attend from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Novato Sanitary District office, 500 Davidson St.
Quesada was unseated in the general election earlier this month, taking fifth out of five candidates. Jean Mariani and Jerry Peters and will join Mike Di Giorgio, Bill Long and Dennis Welsh on the board. Mariani had been appointed to the board earlier this year to replace the.
Quesada’s time on the board, believed to be the longest tenure of any elected official in Marin County history, included a string of 21 years (about 500 meetings) of spotless attendance at board meetings. An architect by trade, Quesada previously served on the Novato Design Review Commission, the Novato Planning Commission and the Novato City Council. He was first appointed to the Novato Sanitary District in 1974.
