Novato City Council Wants to Show You the Money
City officials seek public input as staff presents fiscal sustainability options tool. If approved, the tool will go up on the city's website.
For anyone with strong feelings about Novato's fiscal future, consider a staff presentation tonight at city hall must-see viewing.
The city will roll out its top-level staffers to showcase a fiscal sustainability options tool for the council's approval - and city officials say they want to know what you think about it.
If approved, the tool will go up on the city's website.
City Manager Michael Frank, Assistant City Manager Cathy Capriola, Finance Manager Brian Cochran and Management Analyst Carla Hansen will make the presentation at the 6:30 meeting. The meeting follows a 30-minute closed-session council meeting.
The fiscal sustainability options tool discussion is integral part of the city's process for seeking public input, Councilmember Denise Athas said.
"A few weeks ago we had a public workshop and very few people showed up," Athas said.
The tool will be showcased in a PowerPoint presentation that Athas said is the culmination of 10 months of city staff's work.
"We want (Novato residents) to know about (tonight's) meeting and we want the public's input," Athas said.
"Fiscal sustainability is one of (this council's) most important goals."
