Measuring Voter Loyalty for City Council Race

If you could cast just one vote in the seven-candidate race, who would get it?

We’re in the home stretch during this campaign season, and you know what that means: Those campaign signs will be gone soon.

But it’s more than that. There’s that task of casting our ballots in the Nov. 8 general election.

For those who already voted via absentee ballot, you’re sitting tight and waiting for results. For those who prefer to draw the curtain behind you and fill out the form, there is still time to ponder who will earn your vote.

One of those races is for the Novato City Council. Three seats are open, including one for the retiring Carole Dillon-Knutson. Incumbents Madeline Kellner and Jeanne MacLeamy are going up against challengers Jerome Ghigliotti, Manny Fernandez, Eric Lucan, Leslie Peterson Schwarze and Eleanor Sluis.

If you intend to vote but haven’t made up your mind, we encourage you to flip open the voter guide you received in the mail or watch some of these videos.

We’ve created a poll — an unscientific one, just for kicks — to see which candidate has the most loyal following among Novato Patch readers. If you had only one vote, who’d get it?

More than anything, just remember to vote on Nov. 8. Thousands have died for our right to cast ballots and preserve democracy in the ol’ U.S. of A. It’s worth a few minutes out of your busy day to have your voice heard.
