Marin County to Auction Off Surplus Vehicles

Sedans, SUVs and a road rescue vehicle are among the sale items.

The following is a news release from the County of Marin:

Six vehicles will be available for public purchase starting April 13 when the Marin County Department of Public Works starts an online auction.

Sedans, SUVs and a road rescue vehicle are among the sale items. All vehicles and equipment will be available throughPublicSurplus.com, a secure auction website specializing in selling government property to the public. Vehicles and equipment are listed significantly below Blue Book value.

As the County’s goals remain fixed on budget reduction and environmental consciousness, the County fleet is being trimmed and vehicles with high fuel consumption are being replaced by hybrids or flex fuel options. The retirement of diesel vehicles is in compliance with California’s Air Quality regulations.

The auction begins at midnight on the morning of April 13 and lasts until 2 p.m. April 19. Details about the auction items are not available until the auction begins.

All items are sold “as is” and all sales are final; it is the bidder’s responsibility to check the vehicle’s condition prior to purchase.
