Marin Center to Host McGlashan Memorial on Saturday

Service starts at 10:30 a.m. for Marin County supervisor who died of a heart attack last week after skiing.

A public memorial service is scheduled Saturday morning for Marin County Supervisor Charles McGlashan, at age 49 while on a ski outing at Northstar in Truckee.

The celebration of his life is at the Marin Center Veterans Memorial Auditorium at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and the program will start at 11 a.m. Reserved seating will be available only for members of McGlashan's family.

McGlashan, a Mill Valley resident, also was a member of the board of directors of the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District and the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway
and Transportation District.

The two districts joined the Marin County Board of Supervisors in paying tribute to McGlashan at their meetings since his death.

In lieu of flowers, McGlashan's family has asked that donations in his memory be made to WildCare, the , Green Sangha and the Marin Economic Forum.
