Civic Center Tribute Attracts Hundreds for Veterans Day
Soggy weather keeps some away from Veterans Memorial Auditorium and cancels outdoor presentation, but solemn salutes made with vigor.
Military veterans from all over Marin congregated on Friday morning — Veterans Day morning — at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael to show mutual respect for those who served in all branches of the armed forces. Although the outdoor part of the presentation was cancelled because of the misty weather, several people stopped to pay tribute at the memorials on Avenue of the Flags before leaving the Civic Center area.
