Woman Reporting Harassment is Arrested on a Warrant

The following information from May 10-13 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner: 

May 11, 11:16 a.m. – A woman in the 100 block of Cielo Lane reported that she was being harassed by an ex-spouse.  She said that he is sending texts to friends that mention that he is looking for her.  The woman said her ex has a history of domestic violence and that she is scared that he is going to hurt her or her father.  The woman came into the police station to make a report on the harassment, but officers found she had a no-bail warrant for her arrest out of Sonoma County.  She was booked into Marin County Jail and the report was forwarded to Santa Rosa PD for investigation. 

May 10

1:30 p.m. – An identity theft was reported in the 500 block of Stone Drive.  Unknown(s) used a victim’s debit card, which accounted for a loss of $500.

2:24 p.m. – A burglary was reported at the CVS store on Novato Boulevard.  A reporting party said that two or three kids took bottles of alcohol from the store and fled in a gray four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan.  A license plate number was provided. They were last seen heading south on Wilson Avenue.  Two kids stole bottles of alcohol, and one was contacted and cited.

3:22 p.m. – Shoplifting was reported at the Costco store on Vintage Way.  A 56-year-old man was in custody for taking a camera.  The item has been recovered and the subject is cooperative.  The man is possibly from Georgia.  He was cited and released. 

8:48 p.m. – A man stopped for vehicle code violations in the vicinity of Bolling Drive and Nave Drive was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license.  The man’s vehicle was also towed and impounded. 

11:08 p.m. – A man was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence in the vicinity of Fourth Street and Vallejo Avenue. 

May 11 

8:10 a.m. – A fraud was reported on Rowe Ranch Way.  Unknown(s) made unauthorized charges on an account belonging to a husband and wife.  Charges were made at a local gas station, and fraudulent purchased were made in Lodi and in Utah. 

11:38 a.m. – An identity theft was reported on the 1700 block of Marion Avenue.  A woman said that while attempted to obtain credit for a purchase at Best Buy she was notified that she had filed for bankruptcy and did not qualify for credit.  The woman said she did not file for bankruptcy. 

7:09 p.m. – An aggravated assault was reported on Pizarro Avenue.  The reporting party said that her ex-husband is at the residence trying to pick up the kids and her older son is outside trying to get in the residence.  She said that the boy had tried to choke her a couple of minutes ago.  The 12-year-old boy did not strangle the mother but he was apparently trying to prevent his mother from taking his two younger siblings from a vehicle. 

May 12 

1:59 a.m. – A man was arrested and booked in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue on suspicion of being drunk in public.  He did not qualify for transport to a detox center and was taken to Marin County Jail. 

4:23 a.m. – A 50-year-old woman was reportedly seen on the ground on Scottsdale Way.  She was located and Novato Fire District transported her to Novato Community Hospital for medical issues. 

12:08 p.m. – A fraud was reported in the 2400 block of Topaz Drive.  The reporting party said that unknown(s) had closed and opened a new Sears card in her name.  There was no loss. 

3:52 p.m. – Officer(s) attempted to contact a woman on Muroc Lake Drive.  The woman is the owner of a stolen vehicle that had been involved in an accident in San Rafael.  The vehicle was recovered in San Rafael. 

6:46 p.m. – A 16-year-old girl in the vicinity of the Novato Youth Center on Wilson Avenue was reported to be incoherent and extremely intoxicated.  The reporting party called back to request medical assistance.  The Novato Fire District transported the girl to Novato Community Hospital.  The girl’s parents were contacted and advised.  The girl was cited for public drunkenness. 

8:21 p.m. – Extra patrols were requested in the vicinity of the Novato Youth Center and Sinaloa Middle School due to an event being held at the youth center.  Nothing unusual was observed. 

9:16 p.m. – A reporting party said that a lone man was seen stumbling in the vicinity of San Marin Drive and Redwood Boulevard.  The man was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of public drunkenness. 

9:58 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1500 block of Hill Road.  Unknown(s) smashed the window to a 2009 maroon GMC and took a purse and other items. 

11:27 p.m. – A driver stopped for driving without headlights in the vicinity of northbound Highway 101 and Nave Drive was found to be driving without a license. The driver’s vehicle was towed for storage. 

May 13 

7:16 a.m. – An assault and battery was reported at Novato Community Hospital on Rowland Way.  One employee hit another employee in the mouth and injured that employee’s lip.  The reporting party is with security.  The victim did not wish to press charges at this time. 

12:22 p.m. – Three men wearing hoodies were reported to be drinking alcohol in the 400 block of Enfrente Road.  One was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of public drunkenness. 

2:18 p.m. – Unwanted persons were reported in the creek area behind the Dollar Store on Diablo Avenue.  The reporting party said that three homeless people were throwing bottles and yelling at each other.  Three people were contacted in the creek and were advised of the noise complaint.  They did not appear to have been involved and were asked to move along. 

4:33 p.m. – Unwanted persons were reported under the Bel Marin Keys overpass.  The reporting party said there was a lot of yelling.  One was cited for littering. 

10:33 p.m. – An unwanted person was reported at the Day’s Inn on Redwood Boulevard.  The reporting party said that a man is refusing to leave and refusing to pay for his room. The man also says there is a woman on one of the beds in his room that he claims he does not know.  Officer(s) assisted hotel staff with advising the man of his need to leave the property and waiting while he removed all of his property.
