Woman Arrested in San Marin Burglary

The following information from Dec. 25 – Jan. 3 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner: 

Dec. 27, 12:11 a.m. – A burglary was reported in the 400 block of San Marin Drive.  A resident said that a woman wearing all black was across the street from the reporting party’s residence holding a wallet that was just taken from the reporting party’s residence.  The woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and falsely identifying herself.  She was booked into Marin County Jail.

3:34 a.m. – A burglary was reported in the 300 block of Enfrente Road.  A woman just returned to her residence and noticed the front door ajar.  It appears that unknown(s) entered her residence.  There are empty beer bottles laying around but nothing appears to have been taken. 

3:46 p.m. – An assault and battery was reported on Kelly Court.  A mother hit her son and his girlfriend in the face. The reporting party suspects that the mother may be abusing pain medications.  Both parties refused medical attention and refused to press charges.

4:10 p.m. – A resident in the 7200 block of Redwood Boulevard complained about a landlord-tenant dispute over chickens.  Apparently a neighbor’s child kicked one of the chickens.  The landlord told the reporting party that the tenant had until Jan. 3 to get rid of the chickens and said that if he sees them again he is going to slit their throats.  The tenant was advised to contact the Humane Society.  The reporting party said she wants to spend Christmas with her chickens. 

8:57 p.m. – A juvenile in the 7600 block of Redwood Boulevard was cited and released for possession of a stun gun.  An adult was also cited for contributing. 

Dec. 26 

5:02 a.m. – Suspicious people were reported in the 200 block of Kelly Drive.  Two white men wearing black hoodies were seen shining flashlights into the reporting party’s vehicle and a neighbor’s vehicle.  The two left when the reporting party shouted at them.  They headed west on Bolling Circle. 

10:35 a.m. – A burglary was reported in the 2100 block of Vineyard Road.  The reporting party said that someone had broken into his house and took paperwork and a computer.  The theft occurred sometime between 12/8 and 12/11.  There is no suspect information. 

11:52 a.m. – Threats were reported at the Old Navy store on Vintage Way.  The reporting party said two Hispanic men in their 20s threatened he and his wife as they entered the store.  They used racial slurs and acted as if they were going to harm the reporting party and his wife.  The couple requested assistance to their vehicle.  Officer(s) were told that the two men had remained outside the store until they had arrived.  Officer(s) then attempted to locate the men but they were nowhere to be found.  

10:35 p.m. – A hit-and-run misdemeanor was reported in the vicinity of Paladini Road and Vineyard Road.  An unknown driver struck the rear of a parked vehicle that in turn then struck another parked vehicle.  The driver fled the scene. 

Dec. 27 

12:06 a.m. – An unwanted person was reported in the 400 block of San Marin Drive.  A resident said there was a woman in her late 20s standing in front of her driveway talking on a phone.  The woman was wearing all dark clothing and a dark hat.  The subject was related to a burglary incident on the same block. 

5:06 a.m. – A man sleeping in the bushes behind the Creekside Bakery on Grant Avenue was booked for a felony warrant. 

2:44 p.m. – A fraud was reported at Bank of the West on Grant Avenue.  A faxed request was received to make an international transfer of a large amount of cash.  The transfer was not made as the customer did not authorize it.  The signature on the faxed request was forged. 

Dec. 28 

1:35 a.m. – A vehicle was vandalized on Washington Street.  Unknown(s) scraped the paint on a victim’s truck. 

1:36 a.m. – A vehicle was vandalized in the 1200 block of Lynwood Drive.  Unknown(s) tagged a victim’s vehicle with paint. 

1:38 a.m. – A petty theft was reported in the 1300 block of Denlyn Street.  Items were taken from an unlocked vehicle. 

1:38 a.m. – A petty theft was reported in the 200 block of San Ramon Way.  A package was taken from a front porch. 

1:40 a.m. – A petty theft was reported in the 500 block of San Marin Drive. Unknown(s) stole outdoor furniture.

7:18 a.m. – A stolen vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Midway Boulevard.  The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. yesterday and 7 a.m. this morning.  Unknown(s) took a white Ford F350 truck.  The vehicle has a white utility bed and a white lumber rack.  It has magnetic signs that read “Travis Plumbing” on the doors.  

12:15 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 500 block of Entrada Drive.  Unknown(s) smashed the front passenger side window of a Toyota RAV4 and took personal items including credit cards and a cell phone.  

12:23 p.m. – An identity theft was reported on Haverhill Court.  A victim’s credit card was used online for unauthorized transactions.  The loss is $20,000. 

4:27 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the parking lot of Trader Joe’s on Redwood Boulevard.  A black Ford Edge was broken into and a phone was taken.  

6:09 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported on Pierce Drive after the parent of a 5-year-old girl saw a white woman take a photo of the girl while she was playing in the driveway.  The woman said “hi” to the girl and then drove off in a rusty gray sedan.  The woman had dark hair and wore a black shirt.

12:50 p.m. – A man was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence in the vicinity of Novato Boulevard and Oliva Drive.  

1:36 a.m. – Two suspicious vehicles were reported racing through the San Marin High School parking lot.  A group of six people went on foot toward the football field.  The group was contacted and identified.  They said they were stargazing.  Their parents were contacted and the juveniles were sent home. 

10:29 a.m. – A resident in the 300 block of San Luis Way complained about suspicious solicitors that came to the door.  He asked if he could see a sample of the product they were selling and they had none.  He described them as a white man and a Hispanic man, and both were wearing suits.  The solicitors were contacted and identified and advised of city ordinances.  

1:31 p.m. – A burglary was reported in the 1100 block of Fourth Street.  Unknown(s) broke into a complex laundry room and used a crowbar to pry into the coin box for the laundry machines.  The crowbar and cashbox were found in a nearby field.  The resulting loss was approximately $100 in cash and about $400 in damage.  

3:26 p.m. – A battery was reported at the CVS pharmacy on Grant Avenue.  A woman was involved in a road rage incident with another woman who was driving a black Toyota 4Runner.  The woman had followed her into the store and had pushed her several times and then struck her with her hand.  She then left saying she was going to kill her.  She was described as white, about 40 years old and was wearing a plaid jacket and sunglasses.  The suspect was contacted and counseled regarding her behavior.  Advice was given to both parties. 

Jan. 1 

4:04 a.m. – A fight was reported on Rowland Way.  A reporting party said a group of 20 males were fighting.  No weapons had been seen.  One fell down during the fight and opened up a previous injury on his left elbow.  He requested no police action, only medical assistance. 

5:34 a.m. – A verbal disturbance was reported in the vicinity of Sixth Street and Grant Avenue.  A taxi driver said the customer struck him but he only wanted to be paid for his services.  He did not wish to press charges.  The customer’s mother responded to the scene and paid the taxi driver.  The customer was released to his mother. 

12:18 p.m. – A man came into a business in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard and threatened the reporting party.  The man appeared to have been drinking and kicked the front doors of the business.  He was described as a Hispanic man and was wearing baggy pants.  The man was contacted by officer(s) who will be forwarding a complaint to the D.A.’s office for drinking, which is a violation of his probation. 

3:51 p.m. – Unknown(s) attempted to steal a vehicle in the 1600 block of Hotchkin Drive.  The vehicle owner found the side window busted and the steering column damaged.  It appears that the steering column was pried in an attempt to hot-wire the vehicle. 

Jan. 2 

8:34 a.m. – An unwanted person was reported on a bus in the vicinity of Grant Avenue and Redwood Boulevard.  A white man wearing jeans and a gray jacket refused to get off the bus or pay his fare.  The reporting party said this person has done this before.  The man refused to provide identification and was escorted off the bus.  

9:46 a.m. – A woman was seen bleeding from the head in the 1500 block of Center Road.  The reporting party believes that the woman’s boyfriend beat her.  A complaint was requested for spousal abuse, false imprisonment, threats, and petty theft.   An emergency protection order was also issued. 

11:40 a.m. – An assault and battery was reported in the 1900 block of Novato Boulevard.  A landlord was in a verbal argument with a tenant over rent when the tenant reportedly pushed her with a mattress.  The pushing caused the landlord to injure her wrist as it was slammed against a door.  The landlord requested that the other woman be placed under citizen’s arrest.  

7:02 p.m. – A suspicious subject was reported on Virginia Avenue.  A white man with long blond hair in a ponytail was knocking on doors stating that he was selling vacuums.  The man was insistent on coming in to vacuum a room.  Two were contacted and identified and advised of the complaint.  They said they were with Kirby and that they have a permit but they were unable to produce it.  They were told to stop soliciting until they have a copy of the permit in hand. 

Jan. 3 

10:28 a.m. – An assault and battery was reported at San Marin High School.  A reporting party at the school said there was an incident before school between two teens on the school grounds.  Both had been sent home.

11:16 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported on Main Gate Road.  Gang taggings were found near a P.E. portable off Tinker Way.  

1:40 a.m. – A grand theft was reported at a business in the 200 block of Vintage Way.  An employee had reportedly embezzled $4,158.92 from the business.  The woman was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail after she had arrived for work. 

7:15 p.m. – A report of public drunkenness was made in the 800 block of Diablo Avenue.  A white man with long gray hair and a full beard was reported to be lying on in the driveway to the 7-Eleven market.  He had been asked to leave the Wyndover apartment complex after harassing tenants there. 

8:25 p.m. – A 40-year-old white woman came into Brown’s Binyerd on First Street and drank, then left.  She later returned but the reporting party thinks there may be something else wrong with her.  The woman told the reporting party that she now wants to drive away and that she wants help.  She was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of public drunkenness. 

10:51 p.m. – Vandalism was reported on Captain Nurse Circle after a 17-year-old boy dumped a can of paint on a woman’s vehicle.   It is believed that the boy has a problem with the reporting party’s son and that he lives in the neighborhood.
