Victim in April 13 Fatal Hwy. 101 Crash ID'd as 53-Year-Old Santa Rosa Man

The Coroner Division of the Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver in the April 13 solo fatal crash on northbound Hwy. 101 near the Novato Blvd. exit as a Santa Rosa man.

Hans Hunter Kindt, 53, sustained fatal "thermal injuries" when his car was engulfed in flames after it overturned on Hwy. 101 northbound near the Novato Blvd. exit. The coroner had to use dental evidence to identify Kindt.

The incident occurred at around 6:45 p.m. on April 13 when a vehicle heading north on Hwy. 101 overturned for an unknown reason and became full engulfed in flames, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The connector ramp from northbound U.S. Highway 101 to eastbound state Highway 37 in Novato was closed in the aftermath of the crash for about two hours while authorities dealt with the victim and the wreckage, CHP officials said.
