Two Noise Disturbance Calls Result in One Arrest

The following information from May 30-June 1 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

May 30 

1:54 a.m. – An assault and battery was reported by a man involved in a fight at Brown’s Binyerd bar on First Street.  He was treated at Kaiser hospital and said a man he did not know punched him in the face. 

3:22 a.m. – Novato officers assisted San Rafael Police Department after the victim of an armed robbery in San Rafael resulted in the loss of the victim’s wallet containing personal information.  Novato PD checked the security of the victim’s apartment in Novato in the 1700 block of Marion Avenue.

11:39 a.m. – A burglary was reported on Tahoe Circle.  Unknown(s) entered the residence through an unlocked front door or window and took a 46-inch plasma TV, a butterfly ring, a Juicy bracelet and perfume. 

4:29 p.m. – Two vehicles were burglarized over night in the 1100 block of Redwood Boulevard.  Loss is undetermined at this time.

9:24 p.m. – A neighbor reported hearing a woman screaming obscenities in the 400 block of Entrada Drive.  Officer(s) reported hearing laughing inside the residence but the woman refused to come to the door. 

9:55 p.m. – Malicious mischief was reported in the vicinity of McClay Road and Novato Boulevard.  A man said that someone shot at him with a BB gun and broke the window of his vehicle. 

10:08 p.m. – A neighbor reported hearing load music coming from a house on Alta Vista Court.  He said several people were urinated on a wall to the house where the party was going on.  Officer(s) contacted the resident who said he would turn off the music and close the doors. 

11:05 p.m. – A man was arrested in the vicinity of Lark Court and Novato Boulevard for three Marin County warrants.  He was booked into Marin County Jail. 

May 31 

11:14 a.m. – A party in San Jose reported that her sister in law was in violation of a temporary restraining order by being in the presence of her mother in law at the Bank of America on Grant Avenue.  A supplemental report is to be completed related to an earlier elder abuse case.  No funds were released by the bank and no financial abuse occurred per the restraining order. 

1:50 p.m. – An assault and battery was reported in the 1200 block of Vallejo Avenue.  A dispute between roommates led to one pushing the other down to the ground and then out the door.  The parties were contacted and advised. 

2:46 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported on Orchard Way as two men were driving a red Toyota pickup track with a black rack.  They had been driving through the neighborhood taking recycling from bins on the street.  The truck was filled with miscellaneous items including an old refrigerator and a basketball hoop.  No plate info was provided and vehicle was unable to be located. 

4:05 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported in the vicinity of Cerro Crest Drive and Laguna Vista as a man in a black pickup truck appeared to be going through mail boxes and putting it in trash cans. No plate info was provided and vehicle was unable to be located. 

5:32 p.m. – A man was arrested for two outstanding warrants on Trinity Drive.  Both misdemeanor warrants were $5000.  One was out of Marin and the other was out of Sonoma.  The man was booked into Marin County Jail. 

8:34 p.m. – A juvenile domestic violence incident was reported by a resident on Pico Vista Drive who said that the daughter had been hit by a boy a couple of days before.  Advice was requested about how to handle the situation.  

9:16 p.m. – A resident reported a man walking around the area with a metal bar in his hand.  The man was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for public drunkenness.  

June 1 

1:01 a.m. – A resident complained of a noise disturbance on McClelland Drive.  Three people who said they were waiting for a cab were advised of the complaint that pertained to loud laughing and talking that had been ongoing since 9 p.m. 

1:43 a.m. – A resident on McClelland Drive reported that an unknown woman had been banging on her door.  One person was arrested for public drunkenness and a probation violation. 

2:05 a.m. – Vandalism was reported at the old Pini Hardware building on Grant Avenue.  A window was broken at the vacant property. 

2:30 a.m. – An aggravated assault was reported by a woman in the 100 block of Cielo Lane.  The woman said her husband had been drinking and that he had slapped her. 

10:36 a.m. – A burglary was reported on Andreas Court.  Unknown(s) entered the residence through an unlocked back door and took property sometime during the last two weeks.  A number of items were taken.  The loss is approximately $10,000.

12:27 p.m. – A health and safety violation was reported at Novato High School due to one student giving another a cookie laced with marijuana. 

4:20 p.m. – Forty to 50 kids were reported at the gate to an open space area in the vicinity of Trish Drive and Kathleen Drive.  The smell of marijuana was present.  Two were contacted, there were no others in sight. 

5 p.m. – A 12-year-old student at Hill Middle School was reported to have been continually challenging a reporting party’s son to a fight at school.  The father said a prior assault and battery has already been documented.  The boy has told other students that he wants to fight again.  His parents were not at home but an older brother was contacted who said he would talk to him about his behavior.  The reporting party has notified school staff and may seek a restraining order. 

6:42 p.m. – A juvenile was reported to be in custody for shoplifting at a store on Vintage Way.  The mother was notified who advised that her child be taken to their residence.  

9:57 p.m. – A man at Novato Community Hospital said that he wanted to hurt himself.  The man had been drinking and did not say how he planned to hurt himself.  He was transported to Marin General Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
