Thou Shalt Not Make Threats After Church

The Headliner:

12:13 p.m., Oct. 21 — A woman threatened another woman after Mass at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church. A restraining order between the two was already in place.

Oct. 21

12:40 a.m. — Two wedding parties started to argue with each other at a restaurant on Alameda del Prado, which refused to let both parties in. There was a "show of colors," but troublemakers left prior to officer arrival.

2:46 a.m. — An online case was taken for a vandalism incident on Todd's Road. A construction truck and bulldozer were painted with obscenities.

9:28 a.m. — Property was stolen from an unlocked storage shed in the 1500 block of Hill Road.

11 a.m. — A noise complaint was called in about some kids driving a go-kart near Hangar 5 at Hamilton Landing.

12:24 p.m. — A 1991 Honda Civic was stolen from a parking lot at Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. Video footage showed the car being driven away.

2:42 p.m. — A 17-year-old boy who was just grounded for having alcohol in his bedroom punched a whole in the wall of his Seventh Street home. The mother declined to press vandalism charges and the son apologized.

6:17 p.m. — A man was arrested on a vandalism charge after breaking a window in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue. The man was treated for a laceration on his hand before being booked at jail.

6:41 p.m. — Nobody wanted to file charges after a fight between neighbors near Cedarwood and Rosewood lanes. One had accused the other of sleeping with his wife.

11:34 p.m. — Someone called in a suspected drunken Driver on San Marin Drive. An officer contacted the driver, who was an older subject possibly having problems driving in the rain.

Oct. 22

5:07 a.m. — A resident of Cedar Place reported a broken water pipe. An officer determined the water was coming from a downspout and was not a leak.

7:40 a.m. — Sewer water was coming up into a bathtub at a residence in the 2200 block of Center Road. Novato Sanitary District was contacted.

8:47 a.m. — A 1994 Honda Accord was reported stolen from Topaz Drive.

8:57 a.m. — A minor-injury collision was reported at San Marin Drive and Simmons Lane.

9:27 a.m. — A stereo system was stolen from a car parked at Vintage Oaks Shopping Center.

10:58 a.m. — Windows were smashed on three vehicles parked on Carnoustie Heights Drive.

11:53 p.m. — A man in his 40s refused to leave an area in front of a store on Redwood Boulevard. The caller suspects the man is mentally ill. An officer contacted the man, who said he was meditating. No merit to violations.

1 p.m. — A window was broken on the second floor of a home on Obertz Lane. Officers cannot determine if entry was made into the home. Estimated damage is $1,000.

1:48 p.m. — A woman on Oliva Court said her daughter has been taking money from the mother's bank accounts and forging stolen checks. A fraud report was taken.

2:53 p.m. — A woman on Sunset Parkway said a student is showing sexually explicit photos of her daughter taken during a vacation. The daughter was asleep when the photos were taken. A case was taken for suspicious circumstances.

4:23 p.m. — A business owner on Ignacio Boulevard said one of his customers was approached by a man who asked him to drive his car over him. The man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

7:02 p.m. — A minor injury collision was reported between a car and a pedestrian in the 700 block of De Long Avenue. The pedestrian, an older man, was taken to the hospital with pain to the head, neck, left leg and hands.

Oct. 23

9:39 a.m. — A gray and white pitbull was running loose in the area of Center and Paladini roads. A caller said the dog attempted to attack another dog. The pitbull was scared off by a motorist.

10:26 a.m. — A student at Novato High made suicidal statements. She was taken to a hospital psychiatric ward.

11:04 a.m. — Money was taken out of a Girl Scout account without authorization. A fraud case was taken.

1:45 p.m. — A postal carrier reported that a customer, a woman in her 80s, has not picked up her newspapers or mail for several days in the 7000 block of Redwood Boulevard. There is no answer at the front door. An officer found that the woman had fallen inside the residence. She was awake and communicating with paramedics. Nothing was deemed suspicious. The postal carrier was thanked.

2:20 p.m. — A silver/gray pitbull was seen running loose near First Street and Grant Avenue. It was not aggressive. Case referred to the Marin Humane Society.

4:40 p.m. — A man was washing his car in the 1800 block of Novato Boulevard when a neighbor pulled a knife on him. The neighbor was cited for assault.

9:11 p.m. — A stolen vehicle was found on Topaz Drive. The vehicle is associated with a mail theft incident from the previous night. The vehicle owner was contacted.

9:58 p.m. — A woman called to say she came home to West Orange Avenue to find another woman in her boyfriend's bed. The boyfriend pushed the first woman, the reporting party, out of the trailer. The man was arrested and booked on suspicion of a domestic violence charge.

11:36 p.m. — A loud bang was heard 30 minutes earlier on Haverill Court. The reporting party did not see or smell anything but woke back up to smoke in the house. The fire district was notified.

Oct. 24

1:48 a.m. — A woman driving a car said she was depressed and on medications and threatened to drive into an oncoming car. She was placed on a psychiatric hold at a local hospital.

2:45 a.m. — A mother said her 19-year-old daughter left the previous morning to attend college classes and did not return. Calls made to her cell phone go straight to voicemail. A missing person case was taken.

9:54 a.m. — A 13-year-old girl was placed on a psychiatric hold after cutting herself. Her mother was notified by school staff.

11:32 a.m. — A woman on Marin Oaks Drive said she suspect her mother keyed her vehicle after the two had an argument the previous day. She worries for her mother's mental health. An officer offered advice.

1:04 p.m. — A 45 mph traffic sign was sawed off near San Marin High.  A vandalism case was taken.

2:01 p.m. — A missing juvenile from Novato was reported to Sacramento police.

2:30 p.m. — A woman on St. Francis Avenue said her son verbally abuses her and screams about what he's going to get when she dies. A possible theft occurred at the home. Advice was given about restraining orders.

3:54 p.m. — A woman on Norman Drive believes her landlord broke into her apartment without permission. An officer found that the landlord was cleaning up mold behind a stove.

7:02 p.m. — A man said his wife pushed him while they were in front of the children at their home on Center Road. One subject was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault.

7:08 p.m. — A man was seen shoving a tree branch in the window of a car in the 5700 block of Nave Drive. Officers found a woman had locked her keys in her car and her husband arrived to provide assistance.

8:37 p.m. — Officer advice was requested by a woman who felt threatened by phone calls regarding the new charter school proposal. She was advised not to accept calls from blocked numbers and asked to contact police if the situation escalates. There was no merit to criminal action.

9:55 p.m. — Someone reported a driver parked for 40 minutes with the interior light on in the 800 block of Grant Avenue. An officer found that the person was using Internet wifi connection from a coffee shop.
