Third Arrest Made in Aug. 8 Armed Robbery

Woman believed to be girlfriend of prime suspect is detained as she leaves Marin County Jail.

Novato police have made a third arrest in the case of on Oak Crest Court in Novato.

Katherine Lynn Miller, 18, of Vallejo was contacted Thursday after leaving the Marin County Jail, where another suspect in the incident, John Arce of Petaluma, is being held.

Arce was a passenger in Miller’s car when in Sacramento County by the California Highway Patrol, police said. He was brought to the jail on Wednesday as a suspect in the robbery that involved one victim and three suspects. Nobody was hurt in the robbery, which resulted in the loss of money and other personal items.

Another suspect, Raul Garcia, 19, of Novato, was arrested Aug. 12 near the Shell gas station on Redwood Boulevard and held on a felony count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, Sgt. Mike Howard said.

After the alleged crime, Miller was told by Novato detectives that Arce had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was advised to contact police if he contacted her, police said.

Miller, believed to be Arce’s girlfriend according to Novato police, was released from custody after Arce’s arrest in Sacramento County. She was booked in Marin County Jail and faces charges of aiding Arce in avoiding arrest.

Police are still investigating the robbery and looking for a third suspect. The gunman is believed to be a white man in his 20s, 6 foot to 6-foot-3 and 160 to 180 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to contact Novato police at 897-4361.
