Thieves Nab Computers in Two Bel Marin Keys Burglaries

Selected calls from the log books of Novato PD April 9-12

April 9 

2:43 a.m. – Two males in black hoodies were seen inside a resident’s car on Buena Vista.  Could possibly be headed toward the Square shopping center or Center Road.  No loss determined at this time.  Suspects were gone on arrival and were unable to be located. 

9:32 a.m. – A petty theft was reported in the 700 block of Bradley Avenue.  The reporting party’s mail was found opened and laying in the street.  One of the reporting party’s neighbors found the mail and put it back in the mailbox.  A small amount of cash was reportedly taken out of one letter.

6:14 p.m. – A hit and run incident involving a dog was reported in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard.  The dog's owner was on the scene and appeared in shock and not sure of what to do.  The vehicle that hit the dog took off, as did the dog.  A Marin County Humane Society officer did an area check for the animal but it could not be located. 

April 10

12:40 a.m. – A San Francisco cab driver reported that he brought a subject from San Francisco to Novato’s Pacheco Valley area and she is refusing to pay her fare.  The subject went into an address on Cinnamon Teal Lane.  The subject paid her cab fare and no further assistance was needed. 

9:20 a.m. – Assistance was provided to Novato Fire District after a vehicle fire was reported near a building in the 100 block of Oliva Court.  The fire damaged three vehicles and a structure. 

12:01 p.m. – Vandalism was reported in the 900 block of 7th Street.  Unknown suspect(s) super-glued the locks of Little Caesars Pizza.  No suspect information is available at this time.  Estimated loss is $390. 

1:49 p.m. – A grand theft was reported on Miranda Court.  A victim’s unlocked vehicle was entered over night.  Two cameras and a leatherman tool were stolen.  The estimated loss is $1300. 

5:18 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the vicinity of Albatross Drive and Santana Road.  The reporting party observed two white males one last seen wearing a Pittsburg hoodie and the other wearing a Giants sweatshirt. Both were walking out of the marsh area in the vicinity of the tower that was vandalized with blue paint. 

April 11 

8:25 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported at San Marin High School.  The words “white power” were found written in the school bathroom. 

11:07 a.m. – A subject on Hathaway Drive called stating that she was in a crisis and that she has been on a drub binge all weekend and is afraid to leave her house.  No merit found to mental crisis. The subject has already made arrangements with her mother for transport to drug rehab. 

2:48 p.m. – A rape was reported on the 1600 block of Hill Road.  The victim was transported to Kaiser Vallejo and the suspect was booked into the Marin County Jail. 

4:55 p.m. – A case of shoplifting was reported at the CVS Pharmacy on Novato Boulevard.  Suspect is a Hispanic female, 17 to 18 years of age, 5’ 7”, average build, last seen wearing white hoodie and black pants.  Suspect was carrying a black purse and driving a small 4-door Toyota.  California plate information was provided. 

6:45 p.m. – A warrant arrest was made in the vicinity of Highway 101 and Delong Avenue. 

7:40 p.m. – Two white male juveniles were reportedly seen vandalizing a fire extinguisher on the Sinaloa Middle School campus.  The reporting party saw the boys arrive by bicycle and leave them at the front of the school.  No merit to vandalism.  One juvenile apparently sprayed a small amount from a fire extinguisher.  The juvenile agreed to clean up the mess.  The boy’s father was notified and said he will ensure the mess is cleaned up. 

10:44 p.m. – A 23-year-old woman was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for public drunkenness on the 300 block of Enfrente Road. 

11:03 p.m. – A vehicle was reported stolen in the 1300 block of Leafwood Drive.  A green 1996 Toyota Corolla was stolen sometime after 1 p.m.  All of the owners keys were accounted for.  No suspect information is available. 

April 12 

3:02 a.m. – A reporting party heard a male and female arguing and things being thrown around a residence in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard.  A subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Marin County Jail. 

7:37 a.m. – A burglary was reported in the 300 block of Bel Marin Keys Boulevard.  The back window of a business was broken out and some laptops were taken. 

8:33 a.m. – A burglary was reported on Pamaron Way.  Two windows were found open in a business in a Bel Marin Keys industrial park.   At least one computer was missing. 

1:05 p.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1300 block of Grant Avenue.  The wall of a business was tagged. 

4:15 p.m. – Vandalism was reported in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard.  A Hispanic man wearing a white shirt and jeans was seen pulling up a resident’s plants.  When he was confronted, the subject came at the resident as if he was going to assault him.  Because of the subject’s behavior the resident felt the subject might have been intoxicated.  The area was checked but the subject was unable to be located. 

11:53 p.m. – Two suspicious subjects were reported in the 900 block of Reichert Avenue.  Both were in their 20’s and medium to heavy set.  They had jumped out of the bushes and had looked like they were casing a garage.  The area was checked by vehicle and on foot.  Subjects were gone on arrival and unable to be located.  No signs of criminal activity was seen in the area.
