Teen Accused of $18,000 in Damage to Parking Lot Lights

Video footage showed a vehicle at Hamilton Landing hangars, and it was spotted Monday by Novato police.

Surveillance video in Hamilton captured images someone damaging parking lot lamps twice in the past three weeks, and Novato police have arrested a 19-year-old man as a suspect.

Christopher Meyer West of Novato was in the suspect vehicle seen on the surveillance footage when he was pulled over at 11:50 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard, Lt. Jennifer Welch said. Officers found evidence inside the vehicle linking West to the damaged lights.

The lamps were shot out with a BB gun or pellet gun Jan. 23 and Feb. 11 at the Hamilton Landing hangars, Welch said. The estimated repair costs are $18,000, she said.
