Surveillance video in Hamilton captured images someone damaging parking lot lamps twice in the past three weeks, and Novato police have arrested a 19-year-old man as a suspect.
Christopher Meyer West of Novato was in the suspect vehicle seen on the surveillance footage when he was pulled over at 11:50 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard, Lt. Jennifer Welch said. Officers found evidence inside the vehicle linking West to the damaged lights.
The lamps were shot out with a BB gun or pellet gun Jan. 23 and Feb. 11 at the Hamilton Landing hangars, Welch said. The estimated repair costs are $18,000, she said.
West, who works as a server and cook according to the Marin County Jail booking log, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday and faces one felony count of vandalism. His bail was set at $10,000.
