Suspicious Vehicles, Marijuana at School, Disturbance Over Fruit Salad

The following information from March 7, 2013 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Mar. 7

4:03 a.m. - An employee of the Diablo Avenue Safeway reported a white man in his 50s wearing a teal sweatshirt and black jeans took soup and went into the store bathroom and ate it. Then he went to get frozen dinner and tried to heat it in the deli section.  He also took a bottle of wine. The police gave the man a trespass warning and advised him not to enter Safeway.

6:35 a.m. – A neighbor reported a vehicle on the street at San Marin and Simmons.  The door is open and a stroller is outside the car and it’s all fogged up like its been open all night.  A woman in the vehicle was contacted who said she had permission to occupy the vehicle overnight from the registered owner.  The woman was advised that the registered owner wanted her to move within the next couple of hours.

10:57 a.m. - A resident of Paladin Road reported a bullet hole in his back patio window.  Police do not think it was a bullet hole. The window appeared to have been struck with an object. The resident stated that the gardener was in the backyard earlier and using a weed eater, possibly causing the damage.

11:15 a.m.  - A white Subaru was parked all day in 2-hour zone. The caller said it was an ongoing problem on Grant Avenue.  Also two dogs were left in the vehicle all day.  The vehicle was marked for two-hour parking.

11:21 a.m. - A student was in the office at San Marin High School suspected for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. An adult and the reporting party refused to sign a citizen’s arrest and advised that they will handle in house.  The student was transported to the hospital and a case was taken for possession of marijuana on campus.

11:54 a.m.  – A woman stated that a neighbor told her that an old white Ford car drove up on her driveway and a man got out and took a picture of her house and left the area. 

11:18 p.m. - A report of a verbal disturbance on Gateway Court.  It turned out to be a verbal disagreement over fruit salad and police found no evidence of a physical altercation.
